A large percentage of Indian workers in the UAE live apart from their families, leaving their husbands or wives and children behind in India. As long as you follow the country's rules, getting a resident visa for your spouse in the UAE is a simple and inexpensive process. While some employers will sponsor your spouse and children's residence visas, you can also sponsor your wife or husband's residence visa.
Here's how to get your spouse a residency visa in the United Arab Emirates.
Now that you've decided to start the process of obtaining a residence visa for your spouse, you must first determine whether your spouse is eligible for a residence visa in the UAE.
Wife's Husband Sponsors Her Residence Visa:
Expatriate residents who earn a monthly salary of Dh4,000 or Dh3,000 plus housing can apply for a Residence visa for their wife.
Sponsoring more than one wife
If a Muslim resident meets certain GDRFA rules and circumstances, he may be permitted to sponsor his two wives.
Wife Sponsoring Husband's Residence Visa
If the wife is sponsoring her husband for a residence visa, she must be employed as a teacher, doctor, engineer, nurse, or in any other medical sector function, and her monthly salary must be at least AED 10,000 or AED 8,000 plus housing (in Abu Dhabi). With specific approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners, the minimum wage in Dubai shall not be less than AED 10,000. (GDRFA).
Most fundamental category
If she is a teacher or in any capacity in the medical sector, a wife may sponsor her husband and children if she earns a basic salary of Dh3,000 plus accommodation or a total salary of Dh4,000 without accommodation.
A different category
If a woman works in another category and earns more than Dh10,000 per month, she may be able to sponsor her family with special permission from the DNRD.
Note that in the UAE, it is illegal for a spouse to work while his wife is sponsoring him. As a result, after the spouse finds work in the UAE, he must terminate his visa and seek an employment visa from his employer.
Sponsoring children by Mother
If a woman has a residency permit and a monthly salary of Dh10,000 or Dh8,000 plus lodging, she can sponsor her children. For her housing, she needs have a valid Ejari tenancy contract. She must submit further documentation as required by the relevant authority.
She'll also need a letter of no objection (NOC) from her husband saying that he has no issues to the children residing with her under her sponsorship. The NOC should be notarized and legalised in the home nation as well. She must submit further documentation as required by the relevant authority.
A child can be sponsored by a single mother. Authorities may request documentation comparable to those required for stepchildren sponsorship.
Sponsoring children above the age of 18
An expatriate resident's daughter or daughters can only be sponsored if they are unmarried. He can only sponsor his sons until they reach the age of eighteen. If the son is studying in the UAE or abroad after the age of 18, he can be sponsored until the age of 21 if he can show documentation of his studies.
He must, however, enter the UAE at least once every six months to keep his residency visa active. For his son's visa, the resident must make a deposit with the appropriate GDRFA. The residency visa is provided on an annual basis and is renewed till the student completes his studies.
Stepchildren sponsorship
An expatriate resident may also sponsor his or her stepchildren, subject to GDRFA requirements such as a Deposit for each child and a signed no-objection certificate from the biological parent. Their residency permits are valid for one year and are renewed on a yearly basis.

In the United Arab Emirates, who can sponsor a family?
1. All expatriate workers in the UAE who have a valid residency status and a monthly salary of AED 4000 all-inclusive or AED 3000 plus housing can sponsor their family.
2. If you are a woman seeking to sponsor your children despite the fact that your husband fits the sponsoring criteria, you will be ineligible to do so.
3. Wives in the UAE can sponsor their husbands!
4. All members of the arriving family who are over the age of 18 must pass the fitness exams.
What is the duration of the visa?
The dependant's residence visa must be applied for within 60 days after the family members enter the visa-on-Visa Entry Permit.
Family members are allowed visas ranging from one year to three years, depending on the nature of the expat sponsor's work contract. Expatriate employers, on the other hand, have their families granted three-year residency visas in the UAE.
The entry permit is called as 'tasheera' in emirates other than Dubai. This is available online, but there are a few details to consider. You can begin the process by paying AED 50 to fill out the form at a typing centre.
The visa is valid for up to two years, but the precise length depends on the nature of the sponsor's job as well as his or her employment contract.
For example, if the sponsor's visa is valid for three years, the sponsored relatives' visas are likely to be valid for three years as well. This does not apply to parents and adult sons who are granted a one-year residency visa in the UAE. If the sponsor's visa is revoked for any reason, the dependents' visas will be revoked as well.
When a dependent's visa expires or is revoked, he or she has 30 days to apply for a new one. If they do not comply, they will be considered unlawful residents and may be subject to an overstay fine.
MEDICAL FITNESS
Individuals aged 18 and up are only granted and renewed residence visas in the UAE after passing a medical fitness exam at a government-approved health centre. This entails a blood test as well as an X-ray. Other health issues may be tested on dependents.
A person will not be granted a visa if they are deemed medically unfit.
